Austral is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 42 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool.

According to the 2016 census of population, there were 3,024 residents in Austral. 60.4% of people were born in Australia. The next most common country of birth was Italy at 10.1%. 52.3% of people only spoke English at home. Other languages spoken at home included Italian 14.4% and Arabic 6.9%. The most common response for religious affiliation was Catholic at 47.7%.
